That's Classic (Part 12) - Gingivitis, or an extra three minutes of sleep
Posted 3/11/2010 9:58:00 AM
My dentist says I need to floss more or suffer the consequences. Gingivitis and tooth decay are "real possibilities" she says. I'm not sure I buy it. I read an article in the NY Post stating that dentists and Johnson & Johnson, the largest supplier of dental floss, are in cahoots. Scare tactics are apparently being used to force us to buy packs of the overly-priced, mint-flavored string at an increasingly high rate.
Okay, that's not actually true. But I wish it were, that way I wouldn't have to floss daily. What it boils down to is that flossing is an annoyance. I'm sure at it's most extreme length, it takes three minutes, though the perception is much more than that - say, an hour. I think I'd rather get the extra few minutes of sleep. Having to get up at 3:30 in the morning starts to take its toll.

That's Classic (Part 11) - Jack White and Alice In Chains
Posted 3/10/2010 7:10:00 AM
Whoa! Yesterday was a very busy day. We had the RXP Session with Company Of Thieves at Webster Hall at 12:30pm, and then I went out to lunch afterwards to eat more chorizo. I know I said I would never eat the spiced pork prouct again, stemming from the fact I was sick for three days after eating it before, but there was this overwhelming craving for it. I could resist, so I went back and ate some more. Regarding my stomach: so far, so good.
Anyway, with the hectic schedule yesterday, I didn't get a chance to post a blog. Jack White called in the show to tell me that I owed him money, and we also aired part of my interview with Alice In Chains, backstage before their show on Monday night at Terminal 5.
The audio for both of these is on the blog, and you can follow the link for ...
That's Classic (Part 10) - The triumphant return
Posted 3/8/2010 10:06:00 AM
Hey guys! It's Matt, and I'm back! That's classic!
Being the strong soul I am, I battled off a case of food poisoning, brought on by the consumption of some spiced Spanish pork, aka chorizo, aka fatty, disgusting-ness that I will never eat again. I'm am now convinced that chorizo is an invention by the makers of Pepto-Bismol. That and White Castle. The two alone are enough to carry the company into a realm of astronomical profits. Shame on you, Corporate America.
What a show today. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Does that get the point across? Muse played Madison Square Garden on Friday, and the show was simply a work of art. No words can explain the experience or the showmanship that this band puts on. And before their set, Muse sat down and spoke with the RXP "I'm With The Band" winner. We aired clips of ...

There will not be a blog today, out of respect for Matt Pinfield, who has fallen ill after eating a meal consisting of fatty chorizo.
Please join me in a moment of silence to honor our fallen friend.
Godspeed.
That's Classic (Part 9) - Courtney Love. That's really, really classic.

Wow.
Wow.
Wow.
What an amazing day. Along with all your favorites, such as the iPod segments and prize giveaways (including passes to the new White Stripes movie and tickets to the RXP concert with Spoon), today's show featured the world premiere of the new song from Hole, called "Skinny Little Bitch." The song is also posted for you to vote on. You can find that here.
With the debut of the new single, Courtney Love called the show and talked to us for over an hour. When we weren't live on the air, we made sure to run tape on Courtney. She spoke candidly about her current custody issue with Francis Bean, behind-the-scenes stories about Kurt Cobain, and the controversy over the new CD. You can hear all the segments on the podcast page, included those that weren't initially aired.
I think that about ...

Hi. It is Patti. I am a big fan of the Bouncing Souls. Greg Attonito lives in my dreams and on my walls. It is this passion that caught the eye of the higher ups at RXP and landed me an internship in the promotions department. My job during the day consists of answering phone calls from prize winners, delivering coffee, Vitamin Water, and Snapple to my bosses, and - this is my favorite part, within the internship realm - entering data into a computer. I also am a big fan of The Rock Show. Matt Pinfield is very nice.
Today's show was a good one. Justin Theroux was on with Matt and Leslie. No one tops Greg Attonito in my fantasies, but if I were forced to pick a replacement, it'd be Justin. I have provided a picture of him with his shirt off because of this.
I really loved Justin's performance in the HBO ...
