I grew up in Cambridge, Massachusetts and studied acting at NYU where I was practically expelled from the drama program for blowing off acting classes regularly to hang out at the radio station WNYU FM, everyday. At the time my parents did not see the wisdom of these actions and to be honest, I’m not sure there was a lot of method to that madness at the time. After graduation I did work as an actor landing small, make that microscopically small roles in a few movies and TV shows, but alas I always ended up on the cutting room floor. However the radio bug kept gnawing at me and after Wolfman Jack appeared to me in a dream and said “cut the BS and get back on the air (true story!, stranger still he was still alive at the time. SPOOKY!) I moved back to Boston for a job on the legendary alternative station WFNX. Where I did every shift except afternoon drive so with my ego bruised I moved to Providence Rhode Island to host a one man morning show on another great alternative station that is no longer with us, 99.7 The Edge. My “farce of a morning show” only lasted six months before I bounced back to Boston to work for the legendary “Rock of Boston” WBCN. After several years hosting afternoons in Boston, and a nationally syndicated show called “Nothing Sacred”, I landed back in NYC at 92.3 K-rock before finally ending up at New York’s Rock Experience, 101.9 WRXP.
So that the money that my parents and I spent on NYU wouldn’t be a complete write off, I have put my acting degree to work doing voice overs for commercials and TV shows. Recently I’ve provided the voice of a baseball with a bad Boston accent in a Sony PSP commercial, a talking suitcase, and a dancing pop tart. I could not make this stuff up!.
Random Fact: In my never ending quest for amusement on a recent visit to Madame Tussaud’s wax museum I spent an hour trying to make the J. Lo statue blush, Oh yeah! Mission accomplished. Anything else that you would like to know about me please feel free to ask…..Or better yet just listen to the show.
